Milton is in the process of establishing a
roadmap for environmentally sound economic development. We
wish to encourage the growth of new businesses as well as existing
companies in a well-planned manner. Our hope is to have a
positive working relationship with commercial and industrial
developers in order to create jobs while maintaining the character
of the town.
Milton is conveniently located on the Spaulding
Turnpike - Route 16 and land is relatively inexpensive. The
rural character is inviting to businesses with an eye toward
providing affordable housing for employees.
Approximately 800 acres are zoned Industrial/Commercial
and their convenient location at Exit 17 and Exit 18 on the Spaulding
Turnpike is very attractive for companies who depend on trucking for
transporting product. The North Coast Railroad
also runs through Milton with the advantages for manufacturers
needing access to railroad-based freight transportation.
Milton's Town Administrator is eager to work with prospective
companies in our effort to attract new industries and businesses. You
will find him to be very interested in helping negotiate
Planning Board Regulations, wetland issues, permitting processes and more.
Our philosophy is that well-planned and cooperative development
will lead to relationships mutually beneficial to the town, and the business
community. |
